Shannon #2

Dear readers, this is Shannon. I am supposed to update the blog on my own every once in a while now. So, that’s what I’m doing right now. First of all, I have a mullet- kind of. And it freaking rocks! But anyway, I tried to blow dry my hair today to get rid of the itch from my gel, but that did not work. At all. I think my head will just always itch. But ya, I also went to church today. First time back in my own ward… but they just had to welcome me back at the pulpit, to the entire ward! Wow, that’s not embarrassing at all! Anyway, I think I’m progressing even slower than before so prayers are always greatly appreciated.

  1. We love your mullet and Susanna has told me a ton of times, "Mom, can you believe how fast Shannon's hair is growing?" You look fabulous! We loved seeing you the last couple of weeks. Stu prays for you at least twice a day.

  2. Getting welcomed back to church doesn't sound so bad :) But if you don't want all this attention then you are going to have to do something about the mullet because mullets lend themselves to getting lots of attention! And now that you are sporting one...mullets will probably come back into style!! Lucy does need a hair cut.... :)

  3. Shannon, it's so good to hear from you on the blog. I love to check the blog each night before I go to bed! It is great when there is a new post to read. I am so sorry about your itchy head. I have had an itchy head with a sunburned/peeling scalp and it is not fun. Keep updating us on how you are. We love you!

  5. Hi Shannon! My name is Jennifer and I was in your dad's ward at BYU. I had brain surgery/TBI five years ago and I totally understand the itchy head! For me it always felt like an annoying tickle. It got worse when I was outside and sweating. My doctor said it was basically the nerve endings waking up after being asleep for awhile. But I have good news! At least for me, even though the itching didn't go away for awhile, I got used to it. After just a little while, I hardly noticed it. Hopefully that's how it works for you too! If you or your family have any questions about TBI, I can do my best to answer them. Our experiences aren't exactly the same because TBI affects everyone differently. But from what I've read here on the blog, we have a lot in common too. Feel free to email me at sweet.eudaimonia@gmail.com! I'll keep praying for you and your family. I know it's tough but you can make it through stronger than ever!

  6. Shannon, I don't think you are progressing slower at all! If you read your first blog post and then this second one - wow! What an improvement. It's so great to hear you got to go to church - ya, how embarrassing to be up at the pulpit! The ward must really like you! Keep up the good work, girl - you're going to be just fine and next year you can teach me how to water ski! Love you!
